Golden Gate Bridge – Start of a New Year
Something about this picture makes me think of a new year. The way the bridge is peaking over the hill reminds me of new beginnings and fresh starts as we begin a new year.
I just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope 2010 is a great year for everyone.

Point Reyes Boat Old Paint Texture
I am enthralled with texture photos and shoot a few myself every now and then. This is the stern of the old Point Reyes Boat and shows the peeling paint and the wood turning color by time and weathering.

Point Reyes Beach
On the same outing as the previous picture of the Point Reyes fishing boat. This is one of the north beaches of Point Reyes. The sands were blown into waves and the grasses were multicolored and beautiful.

Point Reyes Fishing Boat
A couple of years ago we went on a day trip to Point Reyes and on the way back stopped and took photos of the Point Reyes fishing boat. This is one of the most photographed boats in the area, as it has a beautiful setting and the wood has weathered into some wonderful colors. We had a perfect day and this is one of the many photos I took of it.

Hummingbird
This photograph I took about a year ago at my in-laws house in Chowchilla, California. I was fortunate to get within about four feet of this mother sitting on her nest. I than cropped the original photograph to get this close up detail which really shows the beauty of this little bird.

More Leaves, What Can I Say?
Yes, more leaves, can’t seem to not take pictures of them lately and when I tend to do the same walk with the dog everyday not much of a change in the scenery. I will try to spread my wings so I don’t bore the few regular visitors I get to my blog.
Leaf on Oak Log
A remnant of fall on a downed oak log on our forest walk along the hills above the Russian River in Sonoma County, California.

Old Barn Light Switch and Breaker
Old storage barn light switch and breaker along my usual walk here at the Rio Lindo Academy campus. With 360 acres there is always need for places to store things and this old covered shed does the job. I liked the texture and color of the box and light switch.
