General Vallejo’s Servant’s Quarters
A few weeks ago I had the fun task of helping transport some of my wife’s fourth grade class on a field trip to Sonoma, California for a California history tour of the local missions and General Vallejo’s home and property.
With my interest in small and tiny buildings (see my Tiny House Blog) I really enjoyed several of Vallejo’s outbuildings such as the servant’s quarters shown here. If you are ever in Sonoma, this is a very enjoyable tour and I recommend it if you can take the time to explore it.

Russian River Hills
The sky and hills were just beautiful the other day in between showers and though this photo does not do it justice it still gives you a taste of the beauty. This is on the road heading down to the barn on the way to “Boy’s Beach” on the Russian River just outside of Healdsburg, California.
Mount Shasta
It’s been a while since I’ve put anything up as it’s been so rainy and soggy around here I just have not gotten any decent pictures.
I’m pulling this one out of the archives, it is of Mount Shasta taken several years ago on a trip in the far reaches of Northern California. This was shot using good old Fuji Velvia film, my favorite slide film choice.
Hummingbird
This photograph I took about a year ago at my in-laws house in Chowchilla, California. I was fortunate to get within about four feet of this mother sitting on her nest. I than cropped the original photograph to get this close up detail which really shows the beauty of this little bird.
